Wigan Athletic tweeted: “We are saddened to hear reports of our former defender Steve Gohouri passing away. Our thoughts are with his family.” 1 Gohouri was raised in Paris and played in France, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Greece and Germany and Israel before signing for Wigan from Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach in January 2010.
